Panhandlers: A novel in stories; October 2018. Nic Schuck follows up his debut novel, Native Moments, with a gritty tale of family drama. Mostly set in the fictional lumber town of Sullivan, Florida, a sleepy forgotten place on the Florida-Alabama border. Panhandlers: a novel in stories, follows Hank Ackerman as he grows up in poverty and attempts to escape the same demons that haunted his father. Sometimes dreams are all people have and it’s those dreams of far-off places that can be the difference in embarking on a life of adventure or being complacent in the life you were born into.
My debut novel, Native Moments, was published by Waldorf Publishing on September 15, 2016. It’s a literary surf adventure set in Costa Rica following Sanch Murray’s quixotic search for an alternative to the American Dream.
An excerpt from the novel is available on theinertia.com

While a grad student at the University of West Florida, I had the opportunity to interview two great artists. The first was Andy Paris who worked on The Laramie Project and several other fantastic plays with the Tectonic Theater Project. And the second was Maile Chapman where we talked about her novel Your Presence Is Requested at Suvanto: A Novel.
In 2011, my first story was published in the Emerald Coast Review. It was a flash fiction submission. Unfortunately, their issues are not available online.
Also, I’ve had an article about the Allman Brothers Band published in the Sandspaper in Pensacola, FL: http://sandspaper.com/2016/09/19/allman-brothers-band-classic-penned-pensacola/
